I’m considering migrating this blog to WordPress. I have some ideas about expanding it and Tumblr is kind of restrictive when it comes to anything more than just the chronologically ordered posts and basic static pages. Plus, I never really got into WordPress theme development, which seems to be a useful skill these days.
If all goes well, the new version should be out by the end of this...

Web Symbols typeface →
There are those points in every interactive designer’s career when he becomes fed up with producing the same set of graphics all over again for every website he designs. It could be the social network icons, gallery arrows or any number of his «signature» butterflies for the footer of each of his projects.
You don’t have to be an expert in the field to come across this particular...
Nerdi →
This has to be the biggest and most up-to-date collection of web developer and designer tools. It completely replaced the bookmarks to some of these tools I had in my browser. There’s also a suggestion form, in case you can’t find something that you use.

There are some great looking websites out there. And whenever I stumble upon one, I always want to share the awesomeness. So I’m starting my own website gallery/showcase where I’ll feature some of my favourites. I’m also considering styling the gallery posts differently, but for now they’ll just be a screenshot with a simple description below.
Better Google Web Fonts →
If you’ve ever thought about using web fonts, then you probably are familiar with Google Web Fonts. What I don’t like about it is that it’s flooded with typefaces that only have a single weight, making them unsuitable for body text. And since the Google service doesn’t let you filter those out, Soma Design have come up with a page listing all of the font families, so...

Android Design →
Great, exactly what Android needs. I’m sick of ugly apps with unusual layouts. The unified design of most iOS apps is what sets them apart and makes them much more appealing to me. Аt least for now.

One 1.5
I’ve submitted a major update for my One theme. When it passes moderation, you’ll notice a slightly different look. That’s because I recoded and restyled the theme from scratch. I also added some features such as:
custom Tagline next to your blog title;
custom Pages support;
Ask and Submit links in the footer.
Custom colours, fonts and the tagline can be set from the...

The evolution of the web →
The web today is a growing universe of interlinked web pages and web apps, teeming with videos, photos, and interactive content. What the average user doesn’t see is the interplay of web technologies and browsers that makes all this possible.

Tumblr Custom Theme Framework v1.2 →
I’ve updated the code; it’s a little bit more semantic now as I’ve been using HTML5 for quite some time and learned a bit or two about the new tags. The pagination has been moved to the posts section because it just didn’t belong to the page footer. Speaking of the footer, I added support for Ask and Submit links, so if you want your theme to have them, they are right there...

Scaffold
As you’ve probably noticed, I’m currently using the Scaffold Theme by Mike Harding.
Scaffold is one of the most popular (premium) themes around Tumblr. I bought it just because I think the developer deserves the $9 for the great job he’s done. I’m not so sure if I’m going to use it a lot, but I’ll stick with it for a while. I think I can actually learn a thing...

Tumblr Custom Theme Framework →
Use this framework as a starting point for your Tumblr themes. It is built with HTML5 and some of its new semantic tags.
It also features the new Eric Meyer’s CSS reset and supports all Tumblr post types, including Photosets and Answers.

New version should be up soon; here’s the changelog:
fixed a bug where bold and italicized words didn’t show with the supposed styles (thanks to electrikmuse);
added CSS3 transition effects when hovering the posts.
As always, you can contact me if you find bugs or any issues with the theme.

One 1.1
I’ve pushed an update to my One theme; you should get it automatically soon. If you’re wondering what’s new, here is the changelog:
added notes support;
added album covers in Audio posts;
added custom Google Analytics ID in the theme’s options;
fixed Answers display;
updated Quotes display;
updated the bottom pagination to be centered.

Third Sunday-only post. It seems that I really don’t like writing during the week.
Anyway, the next (hopefully) few weeks I’ll be working on a redesign of my main page. I will also throw some new ideas in it and see if they fit well. Wish me luck.
By the way, thanks for all the feedback regarding One. I really appreciate that someone found my theme useful. If you find bugs or have a...

Alright, so One is out there. I guess it’s not that good, given the number of installs, but hey - it’s not a competition, right?
By the way, I have some ideas for a new theme and I’ll probably start working on it while polishing the current one. If you have any suggestions or bug reports, contact me, I’ll make sure you get a response as quickly as possible.
